Information about Rebecca
Thank you for viewing my profile. I am Head of Maths at a large secondary school in East London and have been tutoring successfully up to and including A Level Further Maths for 5 years.
I am also a senior examiner for GCSE Statistics.
I have experience teaching Key Stage 3, GCSE and A Level and, in particular, am completely up-to-date with the changes to the GCSE and A Level qualifications.
As someone who actually teaches in schools, I know the best approaches to tackling the new, more challenging 9-1 specification (for GCSE) and linear structure (for A Level). I can draw on a broad range of resources including exam questions from all of the exam boards and many more questions in the 9-1 (GCSE) and linear (A Level) style.
I have an extremely successful track record with private tutoring - all of my GCSE students in 2017, 2018 and 2019 passed with at least a Grade 5, and I can offer references and reviews from many other parents and pupils.
I can offer a heavily scaffolded approach for pupils who have experienced past difficulties in the subject additionally, I can offer a rigorous approach for high-achieving pupils aiming for the top grades.
Please note that I only tutor from my home in Warley, Brentwood and I currently have very limited availability (see above). Finally, as a current teacher I am of course fully DBS checked and registered on the DBS update service.
Availability: Limited - see above for updated availability
Willing to travel: Home Only
Experience: - KS3 mathematics
- KS4 mathematics (foundation and GCSE, 9-1 specification - particularly Edexcel and AQA, but adaptable to all exam boards)
- KS5 mathematics (2016 start modular, 2017 start linear). I have experience tutoring all core modules, all further maths modules, S1 and S2.

Rebecca is an excellent tutor for A Level Maths! My son really enjoyed his lessons with Rebecca. She was able to identify the gaps in his understanding of maths and then supported him to improve his understanding. She is very experienced with the A Level syllabus and exams. Rebecca had a great rapport with my son and I would highly recommend her.
Really helpful and thorough in her approach with my daughter`s A Level Maths, especially Statistics & Mechanics. Thank you.
Rebecca is a fantastic tutor - our daughter enjoys her sessions and Rebecca is great at tailoring the sessions to what is needed -we would absolutely recommend Rebecca to anyone she is fantastic!
Rebecca is a marvellous person and great teacher. Uses past papers as a teaching medium and identifies my daughters weaknesses to improve on. Always prompt and returns messages immediately, so refreshing. My daughter really enjoys her sessions with Rebecca.
Rebecca is encouraging and enthusiastic. My daughter had a previous tutor who she dreaded going to, so was initially worried about meeting Rebecca. Well no worries there, she looks forward to her lessons now. She has regained her confidence. Rebecca has current knowledge of exam techniques and uses this for her tutoring.
Rebecca has only been teaching my daughter for a short space of time but she is beginning to restore my daughter`s confidence in maths. Rebecca has taken the time to find out which particular areas of maths need to be looked at. I would recommend her as a tutor.
My daughter has only been having lessons for a few months, but has already gained more confidence in Maths and trying alot harder at school, she enjoys her sessions, proudly showing us her work when she comes home and really likes and feels comfortable with Rebecca.
