Information about Lucy
I am a trainee English teacher working at a secondary school in North London (Barnet).
I have a big family, two nieces whom I love dearly and spend lots of time with. In the future id like to have my own family, and work more specially with pupils with special educational needs possibly as a SENCO.
I love working with children, they enlighten me and teach me things everyday, and I have never been more fulfilled than I am now as a teacher. I am a strong believer that a students potential can be unlocked by building relationships to boost confidence mainly, whilst also increasing their subject knowledge.
Availability: Monday- friday evenings

Willing to travel: 8 miles
Experience: My undergraduate degree is in Psychology, I have A level English Language, Psychology and History, along with 9 GCSE`s A-C.
I am studying at Middlesex University for my QTS, along with teaching four days a week at school completely independently.
My passion for English and for working with students was sparked about two years ago when I started working with autistic pupils and those with learning difficulties as a teaching assistant in a school affected by Grenfell Tower Fire. Whilst working here I also had a small mentoring caseload which required me to work closely and more pastorally with pupils on emotion management and wellbeing.
In the past I have been employed in the following positions (before finding my true passion): property manager, optical assistant, property administrator, health & wellbeing practitioner (working in the prison system), and data and performance lead).
I have tutored GCSE English and Psychology on a 1-1 basis (student had been predicted level 4s but achieved level 5s). I have also been facilitating English intervention at a Saturday school in a south London secondary school, taking students through exam papers.
I have taught English to secondary school students in two different schools, up to GCSE level and am confident to tutor and teach Edexcel and AQA exam specifications with a wide range of texts.
