I currently lead the Social Sciences department at Dame Alice Owen`s School, voted in the Times (2018 & 2017) as the best state school in the country & most recently (2020) as the State School of the decade. I love teaching and work tirelessly to meet the needs of those who I am fortunate to work with. I have two young boys and a partner who also teaches. I love the outdoors and cycle 100 miles a week for my commute to school. I was fortunate enough to spend two years cycling around the world, so would like to think I am both patient and resilient in equal measure.

Availability: Mainly evenings midweek during term time but I can be flexible on request.

Experience: I have over 15 years teaching experience, teaching Business and Economics GCSE and A Level. I was awarded `outstanding` in my trainee year and went straight onto complete an MA in education. I spent 3 years in a challenging school setting before being invited to return to my current school where I originally trained. My roles have been varied including head of enterprise, head of year 12 & 13 and my current role as head of Social Sciences (Business, Economics & Sociology). I have recently completed a secondment with the Senior Leadership team focusing on effective revision strategies, which involved implementing a whole school initiative. I am also an examiner for A Level Business.
