Hi and thank you for viewing my profile :)
My name is Jason I am offering chemistry tuition for young people requiring assistance in their GCSE and A-level courses. I have a First Class Masters degree and a PhD in chemistry which I obtained from St Andrews University in Scotland. I love teaching and enthusing young minds about my subject and have had great success in assisting several to realise their potential and in all cases so far achieve A grades.
I don`t believe in reading textbooks to those I tutor nor do I assume a role of `teacher`, which inevitably places barriers between myself and the student. Instead I adopt a discursive platform so that they can guide me in where they may have misunderstandings or difficulties.
Finally I try to keep the sessions light, fun and interesting and ultimately the student engaged so they learn and understand as much as they can.
Availability: Evenings and Weekends.
Willing to travel: 15 miles
Experience: I have tutored several young people, including two who needed A grades to get into Veterinary School both are now studying Veterinary medicine at University :)

I had Jason as an A-level chemistry tutor from October 2013 till the end of summer term 2014. I had been struggling with second year Chemistry and required some extra help with this.
Jason provided an excellent insight into advanced chemistry and made each lesson fun, informative and educative.
I found Jason to be extremely professional yet easy going and found him very easy to talk to. I felt comfortable asking him any questions about chemistry for which he could always provide an answer for.
I have not yet received my A-level results, however I am confident I have greatly improved with Jason`s help.
I would thoroughly recommend Jason as a tutor for Chemistry!

Jason is an amazing, friendly and enthusiastic tutor that really helped me to understand, and enhanced my background knowledge in chemistry. In result, this has helped to understand the subject as well as making the work a lot easier. Jason had made every lesson fun and very productive, as he provided me with past exam questions to try out in each topic. Also, he would teach me the bits of chemistry I couldn`t comprehend. What I liked the most was that every lesson would start with a recall of what happened last lesson, and every lesson would end with a summary because of the great help Jason had been to me, I am on target and confident with my chemistry, as well as finding it a lot easier than before. I have been through many tutors during my education and I have never met such an enthusiastic, helpful and friendly tutor that makes complicated things stick in my head as well as simple things. I would highly recommend Jason as a tutor to anyone who may be finding chemistry hard or to boost their confidence in chemistry. 10/10.
