I am a former City lawyer with a degree from Oxford University. After working for a large U.S. law firm for over five years, I decided to pursue a career change.

I have a deep passion for the English language, which is one of the things I enjoyed most about my law career. I previously tutored law (up to undergraduate level) and history (GCSE and A Level), and really enjoyed the experience of teaching. Becoming an English tutor was a perfect career change.

I decided to complete a 300 Hour Level 5 TEFL qualification (equivalent to a foundation degree), to enable me to teach English as a foreign language up to a high level.

I would be an ideal English tutor for students of all ages and abilities. My former legal career helped me to develop an advanced understanding of business English, including technical, legal, business, and financial terminology. I would be equally at home teaching English to younger people, and have experience tutoring both undergraduate and GCSE students.

In my spare time I play the violin (achieved Grade 8), and I’m a keen traveller/backpacker.

I have experience in tutoring law (up to undergraduate level) and history (GCSE and A Level).

Whilst at university, I was a Residential Dean for Oxford Summer Courses. This involved providing academic assistance for 16-18 year olds, as well as being a point of contact for welfare issues. I was also a Student Outreach Ambassador for St. Peter`s College, Oxford which involved working with schools to encourage (particularly state school) students to apply to Oxford.
