I have gained lots of experience working with children and young adults during the past 4 years.
I worked with children with physical and learning disabilities and their families at a local charitable organisation. From this voluntary work, I was exposed to children with lots of different types of abilities and I believe this helped me to understand their needs and the importance for their families to have good support and services. It enabled me to communicate with a diverse range of people.
For the past two years, I have been a babysitter for two families. One family with a 5 year old girl and 8 year boy with ADHD. The other family had a son of 11 years with Autism Spectrum Disorder. My responsibilities included doing homework and helping the children with school work, as well as other duties. Although sometimes challenging, babysitting was a brilliant experience and helped me to see the specific needs of each child and how they respond to different situations.
As an A2 level student, I spent most lunchtimes attending drop in revision sessions to help the AS level students with coursework and exam revision.
I am a confident, caring and sensitive person who has an extremely positive outlook on life and I believe these qualities, along with my passion for education and learning, make me a successful tutor.
