Information about Natalie

I am a Dr in English Literature and have 2 years` experience working in schools as an English teacher. I am taking a break from teaching in school in order to return to private tutoring and writing.

At once holding a PhD and a PGCE means that I am both dedicated to my subject and able to teach it to a high level. I am warm, approachable and flexible in my teaching methods, but also expect a high level of commitment from my students.

Availability: I am currently building a new timetable around my clients, so please get in touch and we can work out when it would be possible to have lessons during the week or weekends. Although I am only just returning to tutoring, I expect to get booked up quickly, so I apologise if your first-choice time-slot is not available.

Willing to travel: 5 miles

Experience: Last year, I completed my NQT qualification in an inner city London academy as a full-time English teacher. This followed on from my PGCE placements in two Bromley schools. As such, I have a wealth of classroom experience and understand different exam boards` requirements.

Over the 4 years preceding that, I tutored many students who all benefited from my tuition. They ranged from year 4 primary through to adulthood, inclusive of GCSE and A level students. I was also a tutor for the Brilliant Club, which places PhD students in low-participation secondary schools. I designed and taught my own course on Holocaust Literature.

I have worked abroad teaching children and young adults adventure skills and Drama games and I look forward to transferring these skills into tutoring students English Literature, up to and beyond A level. My younger siblings have benefited from my fun but informative approach to teaching and I also have experience in inspiring students who want to write creatively.
