I graduated from Oxford University with an MSt in English Literature (1900 to Present). I ranked #1 in my year. Previously, I graduated with a First in English Literature from Durham University, where I ranked within the top 5%. I have A* and A grade A Levels in English Literature, History, Drama and Theatre Studies, and General Studies, and a further A in AS Level French. I ranked 1st in my year in A Level English Literature, Drama and Theatre Studies, and General Studies, and 2nd in my year for History and AS Level French. I also gained 9A* and 2As in my GCSEs. I have recently been published in Oxford University Press`s journal *Adaptation*.
I am a passionate, engaging, and caring tutor with a particular specialism in 20th and 21st century English literature. My approach focuses on developing the student`s independent thought, allowing them to excel both inside and outside the classroom. My lessons are more of a dialogue than rote-learning. This is an approach I found incredibly useful during my tutorials at Oxford University, and I truly believe it is the best method to develop an analytical, perceptive, and engaging approach to academia.

"Lauren has been a fantastic tutor to my son Dylan. She is very bright, kind and patient with him. She is clearly a great communicator giving Dylan the confidence to do well. Also she has made every effort to help me to help Dylan and gone to enormous efforts to make sure that each lesson is as effective as it could be. I can not recommend her highly enough! Thanks Lauren" - 11+ English
"I booked a two hour session with Lauren to help me with my master`s application. Lauren`s advice was very helpful. She provided me with many useful tips coming from her own Oxbridge experience which I found highly valuable. She as well brought plenty of new ideas for my essay and added structure to it. She is not only knowledgable but also very kind, reliable and flexible. I believe her advice has helped me significantly. I recommend Lauren to anyone who is struggling with their essay or personal statement for university or job application. Thank you!"
Aside from tutoring experience, I was an au pair in France for three children between the ages of 20 months and 7 years. Whilst at university, I worked in a nursery and a children`s holiday club during the Easter and Summer holidays, teaching children between the ages of 6 months and 10 years.
