I expect excellent standards from my students. I will set homework and look to see improvements each week, making progress will only happen with practise!
Learning new skills whether it is for a qualification or not should engage the learner in their pursuit to accomplish developed skills and abilities. We are always learning new techniques and developing our skills. I will guide you through with considered art lessons specific to your requirements.

Experience: I studied Fine Art Sculpture at Brighton University, and after working in Art departments for Film and TV I did my PGCE in Secondary Teaching, also at Brighton University. I have been Teaching since 1999. I have worked full and part-time, teaching in schools in London and Birmingham, around having a family and starting my own business. I have excellent subject knowledge, and traditional and purposeful art instruction.
I have strong skills in applying learned methods, Teaching drawing as absolute foundation for a strong portfolio.
Teaching Art and Design from Year 4 up to GCSE and A Level. Designing schemes of work.
Textiles and ceramics work are particular favourites!
I have done many Felt making workshops in the community, and with different age groups.
I have worked in schools with children from reception upwards, as a visiting artist, creating wall hangings.
I work with patients in hospital- helping with well being and positive outlook.
I have had success with Art scholarship applications to an Independent school in Warwick.
I can tailor make skills based teaching, with focus on sketchbook layout, annotations, etching, screen printing, textiles, collograph, Still life, drawing and painting techniques. Print, final piece conceptualising, presentation,and portfolio work . Also Art Essay structure and content guidance.
