Information about Rhona

Hello, I`m Rhona and I have recently graduated from the University of Edinburgh with a First class Biomedical sciences (Hons) degree. I have now started a PGDE course at Napier University which will enable me to teach general science and biology at all levels. Since a young age I have had a passion for life with a love for animals, exploring nature and learning more about the amazing design of the human body. I have always been a firm believer in having a good work/life balance, throughout out school and my degree I have used music and sports as a way to unwind and relax. I also am involved in the local youth work at church and find it really rewarding getting to know the kids and teens.

Experience: Through my PGDE course, I am developing my teaching and tutoring skills, gaining a deeper knowledge of how teens learn, and adopting the best strategies to affectively teach biology in all levels and chemistry and physics to National 4 level. During my degree in biomedical sciences I took a course in science communication which was extremely helpful to not only learn the theory behind communicating science but also gave me opportunity to put the theory into practise. It was at school that I found not only a passion for science but also in encouraging others to engage in science and help their understanding of it as I volunteered in biology/ chemistry classes as a 6th year.
