Hello! I was born and raised in Tokyo, Japan and have grown up speaking both Japanese and English for as long as I can remember. I moved to the UK in 2013 to complete my undergraduate degree in Experimental Psychology at the University of Bristol. Upon completion of my degree, I moved to London and began working in community mental health support.

I`ve decided that I would like to begin tutoring again as I enjoy being in a learning environment and helping others to achieve their goals.

JAPANESE - I am available to tutor Japanese language (reading, writing, speaking), and am very knowledgeable about Japanese culture and history as well. Whether you are planning a trip to Japan, or are just enthusiastic about learning the language, I can help to prepare both your language skills and your cultural knowledge, as I spent 15 years living in the heart of Tokyo. Aside from basic language tutoring, I am also willing to help with proofreading, coursework, and exam preparation as well.

PSYCHOLOGY - I am available to tutor Psychology (developmental, cognitive, biological, behavioural) as well as Experimental Statistics and Scientific Methodology. I completed my undergraduate degree in Experimental Psychology at the University of Bristol. I proceeded to put my learning into practice by going into mental health related work. I hold Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership of the British Psychological Society and am confident in tutoring up to undergraduate degree level.

Experience: I have two years of experience in academic tutoring, and have also taught group lessons to younger children in a classroom setting. I have an additional two years of experience teaching yoga to both groups and to individuals.

JAPANESE - I am bilingual and have communicated to my family and friends in both Japanese and English my whole life. As well as speaking Japanese at home, I have over ten years of academic experience learning Japanese at school. I am confident in my understanding of formal/informal tense and kyoiku kanji. In June 2012, I took Advanced Placement Japanese Language and Culture exam (equivalent to A-Level) and received a score of 5 (highest grade / equivalent to A/A*).

PSYCHOLOGY - I began studying Psychology in my final year of high school and received a score of 5 (highest grade / equivalent to A/A*) on my Advanced Placement Psychology exam (equivalent to A-Level) in June 2013. I went on to gain an Upper Second Class BSc Honours Degree in Experimental Psychology from the University of Bristol. In my final year, I specialised in Neuropsychiatry, Nutrition & Behaviour, and Consciousness. My final project was an independent research study, Investigating the Effect of Mindfulness, Meditation, and Relaxation on Ego-Depletion. I have over three years of voluntary and paid experience working in the field of mental health, and I intend to eventually pursue a Masters in Psychotherapy.
