Experience: I am now in my eighth year of working in Secondary Schools in Surrey, having begun in 2015 as a specialist Teaching Assistant in English and a trained Emotional Literacy Support Assistant. After gaining my QTS in 2018, I took on the role of Deputy Head of English at Hoe Valley School, Woking, where I was Key Stage 3 coordinator. As this was a new school, I was responsible for crafting the Key Stage 3 curriculum, liaising with Primary feeders and making explicit links to the learning journey at GCSE. During 2020, I gained a National Qualification in Middle Leadership, with the focus of my project being on scaffolding and differentiation in the classroom. I am currently a qualified coach and Lead Trainee for Early Career Teachers in English in at St. John the Baptist School, Woking, and teach English Language and Literature to KS3 and KS4.
