Does your child need a little boost of confidence in the classroom? My name is Olivia and I am a qualified teacher (QTS) with a degree in Primary Education, specialising in Early Years offering 1:1 tutoring for children age 4-7. My aim is to support children to be the best that they can be.

From the age of 5, I have been writing registers and teaching all my teddies. I have always known I wanted to be a teacher and each day I feel privileged to be in such a rewarding career.

I am a reliable and organised teacher who is passionate about watching children reach their full potential.

I also have a fully enhanced DBS which I am more than happy to show you, on request.

Availability: In November 2021, I had my own little boy and since then I have been supply teaching and tutoring in the local area. As I am currently not working full time as a class teacher, I have increased availability for tutoring and can be flexible around your family’s needs. Please contact me directly to discuss my availability further.

I offer 1 hour sessions (2 x 25 minute slots with a 10 minute break half way through) to enhance concentration and enable your child to get the most out of their session.

I understand that choosing the right person to support your child to develop is key. Therefore , I always offer an initial no-obligation ‘get to know each other’ session for FREE to give you flexibility in making this important decision. During this session, I will also informally assess your child to create a plan of action regarding their next steps for learning. These will be shared with parents should you wish to continue on the learning journey together. I am a firm believer that parents are invaluable in supporting their child`s development so regular feedback will be paramount following sessions.

Experience: Since qualifying as a teacher in 2014, I have worked as Reception, Year 1and Year 2 teacher in both local state and independent schools. I am therefore extremely familiar with the Early Years and KS1 curriculum and have a sound knowledge of end of year expectations. I also have plentiful experience supporting children in the run up to their end of KS1 assessments.

I offer 1:1 tutoring in Phonics, Reading and Comprehension, Writing and Maths. Having previously been Maths lead, I have a deep understanding of the mastery maths approach. I am fully trained in Read Write Inc as well as Little Wandle Phonics. I also have a good range of experience supporting children with SEN or EAL.

My approach is unique for every child. I get to know each child as an individual, discover their optimum learning styles and next steps for learning before create engaging, practical activities to best support each child`s needs. I aim to support your child to develop a growth mindset in which they fully understand just how valuable `marvellous mistakes` can be in their learning journey. I believe that my positivity alongside my caring, patient and empathetic personality will pastorally support your child to be curious and confident individuals; something that underpins every aspect of successful learners.
