I am an English Literature graduate with a 2.1 from the University of Bristol offering English lessons up to A level in London.

I enjoy sharing my understanding and love of English literature with others, and I am a patient and conscientious tutor who will work incredibly hard to ensure that each child excels. Every pupil learns in a different way and I will adapt my tutoring style to suit the student’s individual needs and goals. I strive to create a supportive and studious learning environment tailor made to the needs and academic aspirations of each child. To maximise the student’s full potential, I welcome parental involvement and will liaise with parents to explore their specific requirements and expectations. I am happy to accept any suggestions or learning materials they recommend.

I specialise in helping students write essays, analyse literature and understand how books’ socio-historical contexts link to the text and how to include them in essays. I can also assist younger pupils with their reading skills so that they grow in confidence and develop a lifelong love of reading.

Experience: I am able to assist students with their essay writing skills as well as helping with spelling, punctuation and grammar. In addition to my university studies, I proofread and edited the assignments and academic journal entries of my peers who studied neuroscience, medicine, English and geography by reviewing the structure, vernacular and syntax of their work. I verified that their ideas were portrayed clearly and I helped them redraft paragraphs to improve the prose. Their essays flowed better and their arguments were concise.

Whilst at secondary school, I was an English tutor to an Italian student. Her confidence and English skills improved considerably as I listened to her reading her school texts aloud and helped with her pronunciation. She told me the aspects of her learning that she struggled with the most and we focused on those. I also assisted her with her homework and helped her prepare for her end of year exams.
