Savitri

Professional, approachable, friendly violin teacher. I teach all ages and stages, and can prepare for exams, or just teach for fun!

Savitri read Music at Christ Church, Oxford, where she graduated with a 1st Class degree in 2014. She finished her Masters degree at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama studying with David Takeno in 2016.

Savitri is currently working predominantly as a performer, however, she would love to share her enthusiasm for music through teaching.

During her studies Savitri has given recitals and taken part in festivals and masterclasses across Europe including Musique à Marsac in France, IMS Prussia Cove and the Holland International Music Sessions. She has been successful in competition across the UK.

Highlights as a soloist include performances of the Sibelius and Tchaikovsky Concertos with Oxford Philomusica, Mozart with the Barbican Young Orchestra and Mendelssohn with the English Festival Orchestra at the Royal Albert Hall.

Performances last season include her debut at Carnegie’s Weill Hall New York, concertos with the Bournemouth Symphony, English Chamber, and Welsh National Opera Orchestras, and recitals throughout the UK. Next season she will make her debut with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

A committed chamber musician Savitri has collaborated with Susan Tomes, Christoph Richter, Steven Isserlis, Andrew Marriner and Alasdair Beatson, and regularly gives recitals with the Trio.
