I help GCSE students consolidate work that they have covered in school when they need to re-cover topics, revise or prepare for exams.

For A level students I have helped them with their coursework; revision and preparation for exams. This is for all the exams boards.

I have helped students get into university; and worked with undergraduates to improve their coursework or dissertations.

I studied Ancient History for my first degree and also for my Masters. I have another Masters in Modern History.

I have a PGCE from Cambridge in teaching Classics so I am a qualified teacher.

I am keen to make students self reliant and giving them the tools and techniques so that they only need me for the minimum amount of time.

Recent successes include helping an Open University History student achieve a First; and a Pre U student achieve the equivalent of A* for A level History.

Availability: I am pretty flexible for most days and times of the week. Typically I agree a time and day that works for the student and myself based around our existing commitments.

Experience: I have been helping students with GCSEs for Edexcel, AQA, OCR and IGCSE. Typical subjects including Health in England; Elizabethan England; Germany and the Nazis; and Classical Civilisation.

For A levels I have covered Edexcel, AQA, OCR boards. Regular subjects are the Tudors; British Empire; India; Modern America; the Nazis, the French and Russian Revolutions, Elizabeth I

I have also worked with some Pre-U students - on Henry VIII and the Crusades.

I have particular experience helping with the extended essays for A level on topics such as the English Civil War; the Russian and French revolutions and the Suffragettes. I also help these students consolidate existing work to help with revision for exams.

I prepared a student for the Oxford History entrance exam.

I have also worked with University level students. For example giving extensive advice to a second year Open University student on early Modern Europe; and helping a final year student with their dissertation on Ancient Greece.

I am happy to cover most periods of history and if necessary do some revision myself to be totally up to date on a topic.
