Information about Sophia

I have emerged with a 1st Class degree from under the mountain of books involved in completing my English Literature degree at UCL.

This year I have been Editor-in-Chief of online platform and printed magazine SAVAGE Journal, which showcases original writing, poetry, prose and London-centric reviews. I spent august acting in the comedy sketch show `Margarita Dreams` and am now back in London teaching full time and working on several projects.

Availability: I am available throughout the coming academic year.

Willing to travel: 5 miles

Experience: I taught weekly lessons in English (Literature and Language) throughout 2016 and 2017 to the children of three French families. With ages ranging from 6 – 13, my regular pupils were four boys and three girls in total. The different briefs ranged from teaching the youngest girl, Mia, to read English from scratch to coaching the extremely bright Timothée towards his examinations at the end of 5ème (Year 8), in which he excelled.

I have also taken focused sessions for students taking GCSE to University level exams, particularly in the summers of 2015 and 2016. These sessions have included coaching numerous pupils towards iGCSE, GCSE and A-Level English Literature, in which all pupils attained at least A grades. I have also taught GCSE and AS Level History and Theatre Studies.

I have taught several severely dyslexic students, notably Domenica who I prepared for her GCSE and AS levels in English, History and Theatre Studies. She, brilliantly and unexpectedly, attained all As and Bs.
