Information about Julia

I have experience of teaching Biology for 34 years and recently retired from full time teaching. I am available for A Level coaching. I live near BHASVIC in Hove.

Availability: Currently only accepting Students studying the EDUQAS/WJEC specification.

Accepting new students from 1st November 2017.

2017/2018 rates: £45 per hour

Willing to travel: Home Only

Experience: I taught Biology at Roedean School for 20 years until 2011. I then decided to move abroad to teach in a British school in the Cayman Islands. On my return in 2013 I taught WJEC A Level Biology at Cardiff Sixth Form College (the top Independent School for A Levels). During the last 3 academic years I have found tutoring individual students very rewarding. I have experience of teaching all the A Level specifications and an examiner for WJEC Biology.

My last DBS check is dated Sept 2013.

Julia is an excellent tutor. My daughter was struggling with biology A level and with Julia`s help, particularly with exam technique, she got grade A! Julia is knowledgable about what the exam board is looking for in their answers and is able to build confidence through her lessons. Julia`s lessons are well structured and planned, and are always supplemented with excellent resource material. I would highly recommend Julia as a tutor.

We contacted Julia to help our daughter at the end of her 1st year 6th form. Having been a high achiever at GCSE She was struggling with D`s and lacked confidence. She just picked up her results and she achieved an A. Julia both helped with organisation and encouragement.
We would highly recommend Julia.

Julia has been a fantastic tutor for my daughter, who was really struggling in her first year of A Level Biology. Having convinced herself that she was going to fail, Julia worked with her in an encouraging and pragmatic way and my daughter came back with an A in her mocks. Julia is very approachable, and understands the exam system and what is expected through and through. She is exactly the tutor we were looking for. Thank you Julia!
