Information about Hannah

Hannah is a multi-faceted professional cellist who specialises in many genres including classical, musical theatre and folk. She currently deputises cello on the West End production of Wicked. She has performed in the London Musical Theatre Orchestra at Cadogan Hall, the Lyceum Theatre, The London Palladium and St Albans Cathedral, Orchestra Vitae at St Johns Smith Square, Orpheus Sinfonia, Orion Orchestra and the Women of the World Orchestra at Royal Festival Hall conducted by Marin Alsop. She has also performed with at Buxton International Festival 2017 for Lizzie Ball`s Classical Kicks featuring James Pearson, Sam Burgess, Pedro Segundo, Bartek Glowacki and Morgan Szymanski. She is the principal cellist for the LMTO play throughs.

As a founding member of the up and coming folk trio Solasta with award winning fiddler Elisabeth Flett and guitarist Jamie Leeming, she has performed at Ronnie Scotts Jazz Club, Cecil Sharp House, Celtic Connections festival, The Green Note Camden and will be playing Sidmouth Folk Festival Summer 2017. Solasta’s self-titled EP has featured on BBC Radio Wales (Celtic Heartbeat) and Irish Radio RTÉ. In 2016 Hannah founded the Welsh Music Exchange, collaborating with an array of musicians to explore and promote the beauty of welsh music, including Welsh harpist Catrin Meek.

As a soloist Hannah has performed for prestigious events at City Hall, London, Archbishop`s House, Goode UK and Lambeth Palace, for the Archbishop of Canterbury, Mayor of London and Chief Rabbi. She is available to perform solo cello repertoire at events, functions and weddings.

Commercially, Hannah has been a cellist stunt double for a programme on the Welsh broadcasting channel S4C, a wedding band member in a Samsung advert and in a quintet performing and providing consultation for Agatha Raisin, a new series airing on Sky. She recorded cello tracks with welsh composer Sion Trefor for Charlotte Church`s musical `The Last Mermaid` performed at the Millenium centre for the Festival of voice 2016.

Hannah is a member of a number of ensembles including Vibellos String Collective and Chiqas.

Hannah has an LTCL teaching diploma with distinction and provides private one-to-one cello lessons.
Hannah was gifted the Stanley Picker award to study her Master of Arts in cello performance with Naomi Butterworth at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, having graduated with a BMus degree from the Conservatoire in 2016. She was awarded a TCL scholarship upon entry to her undergraduate degree. Hannah is very grateful to the Greenwich Blue Coat Foundation who have contributed towards her Masters fees.

Experience: I teach privately one-to-one lesssons and have had experience in taking cello sectionals for orchestras in South Wales and Hackney Youth Music Service. I have been involved in the Southbank Centre`s FUNharmonics workshop days where I have introduced the cello to children between the ages of 18 months and 10 years. In October 2017 I was a tutor for Cello Folk! at Cecil Sharp House in London organised by the London Cello Society. I am also a visiting cello teacher at schools in South London.
