Information about Chris
I`m a Ph.D. student in Computational Physics at Imperial College London passionate about science and programming.
I hold a masters degree in Theory and Simulation of Materials (Class I hons.) from Imperial College London and a masters degree in Physics (Class I hons.) from The University of Leeds.
I have worked as a software engineer at a London startup and completed an IAESTE internship at the Technical University of Vienna in scientific computing.
My research focuses on microscale interactions between sand grains and water which affect the performance and safety of large hydro dams. My daily activities involve writing software in C/C++ for multi-processor machines running simulations on some of the UK`s largest computing facilities handling and analysing high volumes of data using Python and other open source tools.
My other great loves are music, cooking, climbing and snowboarding.
Availability: Weekdays (after 6pm) and weekends
Willing to travel: 5 miles
Experience: My areas of expertise are physics, maths and programming (C/C++, Python, and shell scri pting).
I have two years experience teaching undergraduate students maths and programming as a graduate teaching assistant during my Ph.D. studies at Imperial.
