Information about Gayle

Gayle has worked in both the state and private sectors. 18 years after qualifying as a teacher, with a wealth of experience in primary teaching and additional experience in Support For Learning, Gayle was asked to privately tutor a young child over the summer holidays so the child didn’t experience what is known as the summer slide. At this point, Gayle realised parents wished to hire the services of tutors to supplement the education children were receiving in school. Rather than tutoring children within the family home, which is full of distractions and can be isolating, Gayle decided that her tutoring sessions would take place in studios which were distraction-free and better suited to collaborative learning. The feedback Gayle received from students and parents was amazing and within 6 months Gayle was looking to open a further studio in Troon to cope with demand. Word was spreading across South Ayrshire about the fantastic service Gayle was providing and parents were starting to book their children in, a year in advance of starting school, to ensure they would have a place alongside attending primary school.

Are your tutors qualified teachers?
Yes, our tutors are qualified primary teachers, who have been carefully selected as they have experience of teaching children using interactive methods.

Where do you tutor?
We have studios where our tutoring takes place. We tutor in our studios are they are distraction-free, allowing the children to focus on the activities.

Why do you tutor in groups?
Collaborative working is great for young children as they can work together, learn alongside each other and share ideas. Working in small groups also allows the children to actively participate in games which bring an element of fun to tutoring sessions and helps relax anxious children.

How big are the groups?
All of our standard groups are capped at 4 children.

I met with Gayle for help for my grandson. The room Gayle uses was bright and inviting my grandson loved it. Gayle went through all the work she did with Christopher on his first session. I am booking sessions throughout the summer for him and have every confidence he will greatly benefit from the support Gayle will give him. Christopher warmed to her immediately and is looking forward to going back.
