Annie

Hi! I`m Annie, an MSci student in Material science from the University of Cambridge. I`ve done tutoring on and off for the last two years, and now have some extra availability. Therefore, I`d love to meet and tutor some new students. My teaching style involves lots of examples, deepening of current knowledge through revision, and extension work based on solid foundations, all delivered with enthusiasm and empathy. I also believe that learning is not just about knowing the facts, but understanding the underlying principle is equally important. In order to succeed, study skills and appropriate motivation is more crucial than sheer intelligence or talent.

I`d be willing to teach any GCSE, A-level, or IB student doing science or mathematics. My specialities are chemistry and physics, but I could also teach biology, mathematics, or compound courses.

Availability: I have a very flexible but somewhat changing schedule, if you message I will almost certainly be able to fit a lesson whenever suits you.

-44/45 in IB (Chemistry, physics, and mathematics higher levels)
-Tutored students in their home for 2 years, raised one student`s grade level from two years below standard to up to standard
-Performed online tutoring for several students over the last two years
-Outreach work for the university to recruit disadvantaged pupils
-Mentored A-level students through the outlook, motivation, and study skills parts of 6th form as part of the STEM smart programme
