I am a History Teacher with 20 years experience. I hold an MA in Modern History and I am a former Head of Department and Head of Sixth Form and Assistant Headteacher. I have a broad range of subject experience at A level and GCSE. I have taught or tutored all of the three main exam boards as well as the international GCSE and A level.
I enjoy supporting my students in making progress and achieving the very best grades possible. I am particularly skilled at breaking down examinaton skills into clear managable and repeatable chunks. i have had great success in supporting studnets in preparing for their coursework units.
As a former Head of Sixth Form I have significant experience in supporting studnets in their University applications and I am able to help studnets write their personal statements and prepare for interviews and entrance exams for the more competetive degrees such as Medicine and Law. I support students in preparing for the LNAT, BMAT and UKCAT examinatons. I have an incredible success rate in supporting students secure places at the very best universities.
I am also able to home school or provide online tuition.

We have been very pleased with Julian as a tutor. His subject knowledge is excellent and he is always well prepared for the sessions. My daughter has found him to be really helpful for her A level History studies.
