Information about Laura
Currently Head of Psychology and an outstanding teacher is the subject, I am also an exam board examiner. I offering one to one tuition for A Level Psychology. I am also the leader of EPQ in my setting with 3 years of experience delivering this qualification and extensive knowledge of the course requirements.
My tutoring style focuses on making the content relevant and simple to understand and preparing students to perform well in the exam by teaching exam technique. Teaching style varies depending on the needs of the student but I do aim to use the students own text book and resources wherever possible as well as some tailored resources.
I am most familiar with the AQA specifications and am currently examiner of this specification, but please do contact me with any questions regarding ability to tutor other specifications.
I have worked with students of all needs and levels of understanding, from students who need to revisit the basics to candidates aiming for that elusive A* grade!
I adore teaching the new specification and am proficient in tutoring the whole two year course. I have a particular passion for research methods and essay writing - these are the areas which make the biggest difference in the exam.
The EPQ is a student led qualification but often students lack the skills required to complete the course, I am proficient in tutoring the taught skills as well as offering one-off sessions to help understand the submission requirements. I would recommend Laura wholeheartedly. She is very professional. Has an excellent knowledge of her subject. Laura is well organised and always well prepared. She listens to the needs of her student and has an excellent rapport with Eleanor (her student) and the family.
