I`m a recent graduate from Cambridge University with a 1st class BA in History. Next year I will be doing a PGCE with the Pimlico-London SCITT, teaching History at Secondary School level. I`m really interested in tutoring as I think it will enhance my love and experience of teaching, and will be interesting to compare the experience of teaching in the classroom to a one-to-one setting. My aims would be to help to support tutees in a flexible way, and enhance and develop their areas on interest within a subject.
Willing to travel: 10 miles
Experience: Educational Qualifications:
BA in History from Cambridge University
A Levels in History (A*), Geography (A*) and Philosophy and Ethics (A). I also did an AS in Biology (A)
While in Sixth Form I was a Geography mentor, helping a group of GCSE students with their work one lunchtime each week. I really enjoyed this experience, especially seeing the tangible progress of the students.
Between School and University, I spent a year in Chile volunteering for a charity for people with learning disabilities. This involved acting as a classroom assistant in a SEN school. Again, seeing the pupils progress, and building working relationships with them, gave me an immense sense of satisfaction, and was ultimately what motivated me to apply for teacher training after University.
I will be commencing by Teacher Training year in September, having already completed 2 weeks of induction training.
