Information about Karina

I am a qualified teacher working as the Assistant Head of Mathematics in a North London Secondary Academy. My experience within the classroom has helped me adapt my teaching style to each individual. I understand that each student has their own needs and struggles, and may benefit especially from private one-to-one tutoring.

As a teacher, I have taught all age groups from Year 7 to Year 11. At GCSE, I have taught the Foundation tier supporting students to achieve Grade 5, and I have taught Higher tier working students between Grade 7 and 9. As an Assistant Head of Maths, I am responsible for the curriculum and assessments of Year 10 and 11. I know the importance of planning engaging lessons, building on prior learning, and practice practice practice!

I have also previously worked as a Business Development Lead for a Change and Design agency, leading a team of Bid Managers focusing on Central and Local Government technology procurement.

My own education has exposed me to excellent tutoring and teaching methods, and has compelled me to provide a similar, excellent tutoring experience. I was first educated at The Lady Eleanor Holles School in Hampton (a top 10 Independent School), which allowed me to experience a variety of different teaching methods from all disciplines. Following this, I graduated from University College London, specialising in emerging market economies and wage gender divide.
