Hi! My name is Carmen and I am a native Cantonese speaker born in London, I am fluent in English and I am near fluent in Mandarin as well, I just graduated from University of Edinburgh with an MA in Chinese Studies with a distinction in spoken Chinese. I enjoy teaching and tutoring as well as sharing knowledge and advice I have learnt throughout my years in education. If you are a motivated student who requires a bit of support or would like to learn something new, feel free to get in touch.

I`m also willing to do online lessons via Skype and Zoom.

Availability: I am available most afternoons and some evenings:

Monday: 2PM-6PM
Tuesday: 2PM-7PM
Wednesday: 12PM-6PM
Thursday: 2PM-7PM
Friday: 12:30PM-6PM

Experience: I`ve had tutoring experience before in Maths. I participated in a teaching programme designed to teach and support younger students in extra Maths sessions during my breaks. I have also taken part in a peer-mentor scheme during my GCSEs, having helped one of my tutees gain confidence in the subject. I have been tutoring online for the past 3 years and have spent a summer in Hong Kong teaching English to underprivileged students in the setting of a summer camp as well as teaching a crafting class in Mandarin to fellow students during my exchange year in Taiwan.


Qualifications:
-Obtained an A grade in GCSE English Literature and Language
-Obtained an A* grade in GCSE Maths
-Obtained a B grade in A-Level Chinese
-Obtained a B grade in A-level Maths
-Native Cantonese speaker
-Completed a Young Interpreter course for English-Chinese
-Graduated from the University of Edinburgh with an MA in Chinese, with a distinction in spoken Chinese
