Information about Mark Jerome
I am an LSE law graduate, and a highly experienced tutor of English, History, Philosophy, Sociology, and Law. I have also studied at Yale University and Università Bocconi.
I am dedicated to helping students achieve academic success, whilst making the process of learning fun, challenging, and tailored to the specific needs of the student.
Willing to travel: Home Only
Experience: I am currently an English Language Assistant at a local primary school, where I managed to increase students` motivation levels and increase English test scores by 25% in my first term. Despite the challenges of the pandemic, I have demonstrated an ability to adapt to changing circumstances by planning English lessons and activities all within social distancing rules.
At school, I completed GCSE and A-level in the top 5% in the London Borough of Wandsworth and was named 1 of 50 Star Pupils in the borough. My academic achievements were recognised by Wandsworth Council`s Education Spokesman Cllr Kathy Tracey who congratulated me personally at a special town hall reception in 2014.
My interest in English is deep-rooted. In 2010, I signed up to and finished first place in the Anne Cassidy Short Story Competition amongst 50 young writers at my secondary school. I also achieved the only A* and A in GCSE English Language and A-level English Literature respectively, amongst a combined cohort of 225 students.
I have five years of experience tutoring English and Law, and can also teach other subjects including History, Philosophy, and Sociology. I have worked as a private tutor for students preparing for their English exams in other countries, such as Spain.
In addition to tutoring, I provide advice to students who are aspiring to study law at prestigious institutions, such as the LSE.
