Information about Jennifer
I am a hard-working and enthusiastic girl from Sevenoaks who loves to learn and teach. I am currently studying Psychological and Behavioural Sciences at Churchill College, Cambridge, having achieved A Levels in Maths (A*), Psychology (A*) and Chemistry (A) and full marks for my EPQ - a 7,000-word dissertation on the causes, diagnosis, and treatment of psychopathy.
From November 2017 to June 2018 (for an approximate total of 150 hours) I tutored 3 GCSE students in Maths, Physics, Biology, and Chemistry and with my help their grades improved from a 4 to a 7. I loved every second of tutoring them and spending the time to watch their eyes light up when they understood something felt very rewarding.
I aim to teach beyond the basic specification of a subject so that pupils are better equipped for more abstract questions and because in my experience, understanding why things work can help all students understand how they work (which is often all that is set on the specification). I also go over the best methods for revision so that my pupils can work more effectively (often for less time in the long-run!) as this will also prepare them for any exams beyond our working together.
I truly enjoy tutoring and working with students to help them achieve their full potential so please do send enquiries!
Availability: I am free every day and can work whenever suits you best, though weekday mornings would be preferable.
Willing to travel: 5 miles
Experience: I have been working as a private tutor for three GCSE pupils since November to prepare them for their exams which they also took this Summer. I gave each pupil one two-hour session a week, though this increased during the holidays and their exam period: in total I have completed approximately 150 hours of tutoring.
Other than this, I have mentored several students in school (one of whom jumped from a D grade in Chemistry to an A* in just a few weeks!) and I am also responsible for setting up and running revision sessions for the A Level Psychology course.

My daughter is studying A level psychology and found Jenny hugely helpful and friendly. From a parent`s perspective I found Jenny delightful to deal with - she certainly put my daughter at ease and made her feel more confident in her ability and knowledge. I would recommend Jenny 100%.
