Information about Zara
An experienced primary school teacher (awarded outstanding) - strong understanding around the curriculum.
I have been awarded as an outstanding teacher, mainly because I am able to support my students to progress and learn to their full potential.Teaching is my passion and working with children is what I do for a living. My students are able to progress rapidly and enjoy their learning journey.
Here are some of the advantages of having me as your one to one tutor:
- phonics supports (learning to read, improve reading)
- Maths (methods and explanations - differentiated teaching strategies)
- English SPAG (spelling, punctuation and grammar)
- Year 1 (special support with Phonics and holding a sentence)
- Students with English as an additional language - Strategies that support the learning of the English Language.
I am currently offering online tuition.
My teaching approach -
I believe behaviour and learning go hand in hand; I use positive reinforcement to encourage my students and motivate them so that they can gain a level of confidence. I want learning to be an enjoyable and fun experience - children tend to learn even better when they understand and become an active participant within their learning journey.
I differentiate my teaching strategies to meet the needs of my students, for example; some people learn better when they can visualize the concept, I would provide the visual learning through the use of pictures or drawings. Similarly, I understand that every child is unique and learns in their own pace - I plan and prepare lessons to ensure my students learn to their full potential.
I secure pupil progress, by first analyzing the strengths and the areas of development. I plan and set targets for my students - I make a realistic plan on how to meet those targets. I plan fun and engaging lessons, during the one to one, I ensure that my student gets full attention and so that they can gain maximum benefit within their understanding and overall learning.
As a teacher and tutor, the most satisfying feeling is when my students understand a concept and progress to a great depth.

Experience: I am an experienced primary school teacher (awarded outstanding). I have tutored children from the early years till year 6. Being a primary school teacher enables me to always stay up-to-date with any changes or amendments that occur within the education department.
I am experienced in delivering outstanding phonics lessons. Children have learnt to read and identify their set 1, 2 and 3 sounds, which supports their reading.
Overall, my students have always progressed to a great level - for example; I had students that started on `working towards` and progressed to `working at a greater depth` - this shows the secured pupil progress.
During my PGCE (teacher training year) I studied in depth on how to support children with English and an additional language; I have used resources and strategies in which children with English with an additional language have developed confidence in speaking, writing and reading English.
