Information about Anand
As can be expected, the students who reach out do so because traditional, formal classroom-based learning has not worked well for them. I have an informal approach to teaching and try build a rapport with my students which serves as a medium for knowledge transfer. Course content comes from the core textbooks so besides teaching content that is readily available, where do I add value?
Teaching techniques from best practice to time management.
Building confidence guiding students through tougher questions and encouraging them to take on challenging questions.
Nurturing autodidacticism Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime. Helping students realise the potential of self-study I have not tutored a single student longer than 6 months.
If you feel your child can benefit from my approach, please get in touch.
Availability: Easter revision programme:
Following a successful half-term revision programme, the next revision programme will take place during the Easter holidays between Friday 10 April 2020 and Sunday 19 April 2020.
This is devised for Year 11, 12 and 13 students and is suited to those who might not usually take supplementary maths tuitions but wish to get the most out of their break. Students should feel ready to test by the end of these sessions.
The Easter intensive 1-week programme is designed to:
a) cover the entire syllabus: starts by covering remaining topics
b) refresh knowledge: text book page-turn exercise
c) identify and practice areas of difficulty: practice
d) prepare students for the final exams: mock exam
Programme Format*:
7 x 1.5-hour sessions (one session / day)
Sessions 1 5: Course content and practice
Session 6 mock exam
Session 7 corrections, review, advice, AOB
Commitment needed from student:
3 hours/day (max) 1.5 hours tuition, 1.5 hours (max) private study / homework
Preferably same time availability throughout the week however sessions can be rescheduled to accommodate students calendar.
* Note that the programme is based on the ability of an average student. If more time is needed to cover course content, then this would take precedence over testing (mock exam).
Please contact me directly for scheduling and pricing.
Willing to travel: 3 miles
Experience: I have been offering Maths tuition for the last 2 years, however, I have been a mentor and offered academic help informally for many more.

Really productive sessions, we managed to go over key A1 content and he has made certain topics and questions that I would usually struggle on much easier.
