** NOW ACCEPTING NEW STUDENTS FOR SEPTEMBER 2019 **
***I AM NOW BASED IN NOTTINGHAM***
Hello and welcome to my Tutorhunt page.
I have been tutoring for the past four years- specialising in Chemistry and Biology. I currently hold a 2:1 Degree in Biochemistry from Manchester University, and I enter my 3rd year of Graduate Medicine in September 2019.
I have had experience tutoring all GCSE and A-level syllabus` for science (I limit myself to GCSE Physics only).
I have an excellent working knowledge of all A-level principles, but where I make the most impact on my students is by bringing my detailed knowledge. I find especially for students after the A* grades- syllabus knowledge is now insufficient. However, I appreciate that some students feel overwhelmed by the jump from GCSE to A-level and can find themselves falling behind. To remedy this I believe in consolidating the keystone topics of science- ones which carry through to degree level. I always hope to foster a love of science which I am incredibly enthusiastic about!
I advocate teaching students how to think and learn their topics, rather than expecting a blind rote-learning technique. I do this by including real life examples from medicine and pharmacology- always relevant in Chemistry and Biology.
Having successfully applied to two Russel Group universities for Biochemistry and now Medicine I am very capable in assisting with UCAS applications and personal statements. Together, one of my A-level students and I secured an unconditional place at University- before her exam results.
I have an A-level background in English Literature, so I am able to help students with scientific essays and their writing style; relevant for synoptic essays.
I am a relaxed and friendly teacher, I always want my students to feel confident in asking me questions and engaging in discussion with me.
