Information about Magali
Hi, my name is Maggie.
I think enjoying a subject has everything to do with the person who is teaching that subject, or at least this was the impression I got at university. I also think that if you enjoy a subject you are much more likely to succeed in it as it is a lot easier to remember something when you have enjoyed learning it or are able to make a connection with something you already know and like. This is why I take an enthusiastic approach to learning and make sure the student is engaged in the lesson and is taking in what I am communicating.
For Maths, I aim to tailor the class to the needs of the student. Often students are able to select topics they are struggling with or would like practice with - I can tailor each class to cover these topics and select appropriate past exam questions. With Maths half the battle is practise so homework is extremely important as it will provide the student with the chance to test their understanding in the material covered in the class.
For Spanish, I will select a book according to the student`s current level and begin the lesson by reading and learning new vocabulary and then proceed to writing and grammar. If the student requires most help in any one skill only (reading, writing or listening) then I will aim to focus lessons on such skill.
