*I am not currently taking on new students.* I graduated from the University of Oxford with a first-class degree in Classics last year. I offer tuition in English, History, Latin, Ancient History and Classical Civilisation.

I have experience of tutoring History, and I achieved A* at GCSE and A Level in the subject. I am keen to support students in all aspects of their learning, including exam technique and essay writing. When tutoring History, I focus on helping students develop their confidence in analysing and interpreting textual and visual sources, as I think this is a crucial part of studying the subject at any level. I also like to encourage students to voice their opinions and I push them to find evidence to support their argument.

I achieved A*s in English Literature at GCSE and A Level. I think the skill of close textual analysis is central to succeeding in English Literature, and would focus on helping students gain confidence in identifying and discussing significant parts of the text. I would also aim to ensure students have a solid foundation through revising the literary and historical context of works.

I read a wide range of Latin authors during my degree, and feel confident providing learning materials and guidance for those reading Ovid, Virgil, Tacitus, and Catullus, etc, as part of their Latin GCSEs and A Levels. I have a particular love of language learning, and have experimented with various techniques for memorising vocabulary and understanding grammar. As such, I am equally interested in helping beginners develop a solid foundation in Latin.

My experience of learning Latin, Ancient Greek, and French has vastly improved my understanding of the grammar of my own native language English. I would be keen to support those who are learning English as a second language. Having studied several languages myself, I would introduce students to a range of language learning techniques, and would work with them to identify the most effective way for them to improve their English.

Experience: I have previously taught History GCSE. I have experience of marking and explaining source-based essay questions, as well as a familiarity with the syllabus and mark scheme for GCSE level History.
