I am a qualified (PGCE and QTS) History and Politics teacher based in East Sussex.

My tutoring is tailored to the needs of individual students. Sessions can focus on:

- Decoding tricky exam questions
- Teaching and practicing tried and tested writing structures
- Source and interpretations analysis
- Knowledge retention and revision techniques that make it stick
- A combination of all of the above!

I specialise in GCSE History, but can also provide tuition in A Level History and Government and Politics. Specialist subjects include:

- Early Elizabethan England, 1558–88
- Superpower relations and the Cold War, 1941–91
- Crime and punishment in Britain, c1000–present
- Medicine in Britain, c1250–present
- Weimar and Nazi Germany, 1918–39
- The USA, 1954–75: conflict at home and abroad
- Comprehensive knowledge of KS3 history curriculum

Experience: I am an Oxford Brookes University BA History graduate, and hold a PGCE in Secondary History from the University of Sussex. During my training year and six years full time teaching, I have worked in three schools and taught History at KS3, GCSE and A-level. I have always worked with students with a broad range of abilities and have helped students to achieve their very best by giving them the essential tools and skills needed to be exam ready.

I have worked as a Head of Department for five years, creating lessons and resources that lead to exam success for all of my students. I have a keen interest in pedagogy, and understanding how young people learn. I believe that sharing this insight with young people gives them ownership of their studies and the confidence they need to achieve their very best.
