Information about Gwilym

I am a physics (A level, GCSE) and maths (GCSE) tutor in Walthamstow.

Maths and physics are technical, challenging subjects. They are also fascinating, rewarding and highly valued by universities and employers.

With the right technique, and enough hard work, almost any student can again an excellent grade in these subjects.

I start by showing my students how to learn and how to revise. I have taught second year A level students who still aren`t really sure how to go about revising for their exams.

Then, I show them exam technique. This is important at GCSE, and absolutely crucial at A level. A simple, methodical approach, means that students can always make progress with any question, rather than becoming stuck or casting around for ideas in an exam.

After that, the role of the tutor is to keep students on track. A weekly tutorial means that they never need become stuck, or go off course. Parents always know that they are heading in the right direction, and receive immediate feedback if they are falling behind. Knowing that their hard work will lead to concrete progress is one of the best motivations that a student can have.

I have tutored for three years, after starting teacher training as a science and physics teacher at one of the UK`s best academies. After a career in the City in risk IT I now run a small training company, and enjoy tutoring part time.

Send me a message on this website if you are looking for a tutor. I am available on Tuesday afternoons and evenings for lesson.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Availability: Tuesday afternoons and evenings

Willing to travel: 2 miles

Experience: I have taught and tutored at one of the UK`s best secondary schools and then tutored for three years.

I have a 2:1 physics degree from Bristol. I was a barrister and then worked in the City, before running my own training company, Lloyd Park House, that specialises in public sector mental health training.

Gwilym has been great, he taught me both physics and math. I liked how he was able to learn very quickly which method of teaching suits me and was able to explain all the difficult topics in an excellent way. He also made sure that I practice at least one question with him before we move on to the next topic to ensure that I have fully understood the concept. I recommend him to any student looking for a math/physics tutor.
