Gwilym (Tutor in London)
I am a London based tutor specialising in Physics and Maths.
I have taught and tutored at one of the UK`s best secondary schools. My excellent subject knowledge and familiarity with the curriculum and exam technique mean that I can coach you from wherever you are with physics, maths or science to wherever you want to be. I tutor physics to A level, and maths to GCSE.
The time I have spent as a classroom teacher has shown me the difference between pupils in the lower sets and those in the top set. I have seen how some pupils can fall behind and lose interest if they don`t understand something or are not challenged, while others struggle to rise despite their best efforts, and that with the right help anyone can do well at these subjects.
Every tutor session will be carefully planned around your understanding and your ability. In the first session your subject knowledge will improve immediately, and from there we can work out how you want to progress, which can be anything from occasional help to a full study plan.
I have a physics degree from Bristol University. Before teaching I was a consultant working on the trading floors at JPMorgan, HSBC and Credit Suisse where I used my analytical and maths skills to value exotic derivatives. Now I work from home and tutor part-time on weekday evenings. I have a current enhanced DBS (CRB) check.
My rate is £40 an hour. I don`t offer online tutoring by Skype, but I am happy to provide occasional support by email in between lessons if you get stuck on your homework. I`m happy to tutor several students at the same time.
Send me a message on TutorHunt telling me the subject or topic and level, and suggesting a time.
I am also available in the Walthamstow/Hackney and nearby areas where we live, and Central London.
I have a real passion for teaching these subjects and I look forward to hearing from you.
