I am a Modern Foreign Languages graduate with a CELTA qualification (teaching English as a Foreign Language) who has recently finished diploma in Montessori Pedagogy. From September 2019 I will be completing Primary teacher training which will enable me to pursue my passion for education.
I have always had a love of languages and I look forward to being able to pass this onto others, as I know language learning can be seen as a particularly difficult subject.
I would also be happy to support any children at primary school who may be struggling. My Montessori experience has enabled me to learn alternative techniques that may be useful to children who find learning in large groups at school particularly difficult.
I like to create a space in which it is okay to make mistakes! This is extremely important for making a student comfortable. For younger learners, who perhaps do not do languages at school, I will use games, songs and other activities in order to keep interest high.
Availability: After school, Monday to Thursday
Willing to travel: 15 miles
Experience: I previously tutored a student for two years in GCSE French and he came away with an A*. We worked a lot on increasing fluency of conversation, improving general confidence, and learning grammar in a way that made more sense to him. The real advantage of tutoring is that I can find the approach that best suits the student.
