Hello! I teach music (piano and music theory) and language (Cantonese, Cantonese playgroup). I tailor-made teaching materials for different students with different needs.

MUSIC:
- I am a freelance London-based composer.
- I am also a piano and music theory tutor with five years of experience.
- I graduated in City University London (MA Composition with Distinction) and University of
Huddersfield (Bmus with First Class).
- I use interactive teaching method to enhance a student’s interest in music. Besides teaching
piano and theory in ABRSM syllabus, I also apply an emphasis on aural skills, improvisation, and
composition in lessons in order to develop the student’s musical sensitivity. (I often apply Suzuki
method and Kodály method in my lesson).

LANGUAGE:
- I am a native Cantonese speaker who was born and raised in Hong Kong.
- I currently work as a Chinese school teacher and Cantonese playgroup teacher in London.
- My teaching methods often focus on vocabulary and the syntax within daily conversation to
create an interactive and engaging environment.
- Private or groups are all welcome at any levels:

1. For bilingual children who wish to develop Cantonese, from any background: My Cantonese
playgroup focuses on singing, story telling, art and craft as well as body movement in order to
develop musical sensitivity and Cantonese at the same time! Parents are welcome to form
groups and I can arrange place to have a fun Cantonese session together!

2. For adult beginners who wish to learn Cantonese: A set of tailor-made teaching material will be
designed by myself according to your needs. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to
contact me!

Availability: Flexible

We can arrange lesson in my living room (E1), my recording studio (also in E1, with an upright piano), or your place.

Experience: Five years of experience in teaching piano, music theory, and music playgroup in English and Cantonese. I aim to provide fun and creative learning аtmоsphere to my students. Not only 100% of my students passed ABRSM exams, but also their aural skills and improvisation skills are well-developed.

I select professional yet creative teaching materials for students in different Cantonese music playgroups. Activities such as flash cards, games, and Cantonese rhymes not only can enhance student’s interest in Cantonese, but also encourage them to learn Chinese culture at the same time.
