Information about In-chan
PhD researcher at Imperial College, 1st Class MEng. 2,000hrs+ tutoring experience
I moved to the UK when I was 9, without being able to speak English. I had a tutor for my 11+ exams. With his help, I not only managed to pass the exams, but was also offered a full scholarship at King Edward`s School, Edgbaston in Birmingham, one of the best schools in the country (incidentally, making me alumni with JRR Tolkien!).
I know exactly how helpful having a personal tutor can be, the impact it can have, from personal experience and I feel I am in a good position to be giving the same help I received.
My approach is that it is learning, not being educated, that is important. Learning how to learn, teaching how to learn. To think rather than to know.
I am currently researching my PhD at Imperial College London, having obtained a 1st Class MEng in Civil Engineering at Imperial.
Availability: 8am to 8pm depending on the day.
Willing to travel: 2 miles
Experience: I have 2,000+hours of private tutoring experience for students from primary school level to A-Level on a 1-to-1 basis.
Specialising in maths tuition, with experience of various exam boards (Excel, AQA, CIE).
I have also helped students with university applications and interview practice, with my tutees having had offers from Oxbridge, Imperial, UCL.
Learning is more than just being told which questions to answer, and how to do them. I prefer to go on the same journey with my tutees, investing in them, and helping them to be curious, investigative, develop a good work ethic and have a wider perspective on the world.
I try to identify and relate with each of my tutees, as they are all different people, all individuals who are in their unique ways special with strengths and weaknesses, which allows me to help not only tutor but mentor them.

In-chan has helped me massively with understanding maths especially with differentiation and integration in a creative way. I highly recommend him as he encouraged me to give exam questions a go before progressively explaining the steps to me.

In-chan is a fantastic teacher because of his in depth knowledge of the subject, and ability to simplify concepts and explain them to the student. He is very kind, always on time, and helpful.

Very friendly tutor who has been able to explain Maths in a way that my daughter understands and enjoys the subject.
