Information about James
I am a recent graduate from the London School of Economics, where I achieved a high First Class degree and obtained A*A*A (Maths, English, Biology) A Levels & 11A* GCSEs.
I pride myself on my ability to listen to students and find ways to make their academic studies more effective and enjoyable, whilst working closely to examination and coursework specifications so my students obtain the highest scores.
Availability: I am fully flexible with tuition time and willing to discuss arrangements with each prospective tutee.
Willing to travel: 5 miles
Experience: I am a calm and patient teacher and have experience tutoring a range of students from GCSE level Maths and English up to degree level Philosophy. Having completed my degree and A levels so recently I feel that I have a firm grasp on what is required to improve grades and understanding in a short time frame.
I have a genuine love for what I teach and hope not only to equip my students with the skills necessary to excel in exams and coursework, but to fuel their curiousity and encourage wider reading.
My approach to tutoring utilises all the tools and methods I have developed over the last few years completing my A levels and university studies. I believe in offering tailored tuition that focuses on development of independent study skills, clarity of thought and original insight, thereby allowing students to achieve the very top grades.

James tutored my son last year in the autumn in year 10 in English and Maths. My son really enjoyed the lessons, he helped to fill the gaps in Maths, and my son gained confidence in English, which showed in the improvement in his marks. We were sorry to stop the lessons due to work commitment.
