I am a fully qualified secondary History teacher. I have taught History, as well as Geography, Religious Education and Drama, since I achieved my QTS in 2007. I have tutored students alongside this to help them achieve their very best in their subject examinations.

I completed my PGCE in Secondary History Education at Kingston University after achieving a 2:1 in History (BA Hons) from the University of Sussex.

I have not only worked as a teacher, but also taken on roles of leading departments and faculties, as well as working as a form tutor and Head of Year. This has provided me with invaluable experience in supporting students in a social as well as academic roles, communicating with parents regularly (especially during the pandemic) and in managing the learning of large cohorts to ensure they succeed. I have worked tirelessly as a Head of Department to make my subject specialism one of the most popular option choices with one of the best grade averages.

I have also worked as an examiner for AQA. This has allowed me to see the inner workings of the GCSE system and has enabled me to access insights into the marking structures and what examiners are specifically looking for in the GCSE papers.

Availability: I am fairly flexible and have availability on a Saturday and Sunday morning, with the potential for some evenings if needed. It would be ideal to find students who are interested in tutoring on a regular basis.

I am available to tutor online, using my vast experience of online learning throughout the pandemic to make this an interesting and worthwhile experience.

Experience: I am an experienced History teacher, working both in the classroom and leading several departments for 14 years. I have worked with students on a one to one basis as a tutor, worked with small groups in withdrawal sessions and with whole GCSE cohorts to improve their results.
