Singer, songwriter and session guitar player Gonçalo studied Jazz and Modern Music at Universidade Lusíada, in Lisbon (2012-2015) and then completed the MA in Songwriting at the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance. As a guitarist, he was taught by some of the best Portuguese guitar players and teachers such as Mário Delgado, André Fernandes and Paulo “Bola” Gonçalves. He also attended masterclasses given by world-wide known musicians such as Richard Bona, Guthrie Govan, Miles Okazaki, David Liebman, among others. As a songwriter, he attended several lectures and seminars with some of the best in the industry: Andrew West, Pat Pattison and Ralph Murphy. He did the Masters in Songwriting at the ICMP London (2016/2017) staying there as a teacher after.

Experience: Gonçalo is a member of the folk/pop band called The Mondegreen Trio, that just launched their first single ‘Sandcastles’. They have been described as a ‘refreshingly talented up-and-coming band […] to watch in the coming years’ by The Upcoming.

Back home, he worked as a session guitarist and backing vocalist for the mainstream Portuguese singer, Kika, having performed at some of the biggest venues in Portugal. He is now working on a solo original project, as well, that will be launched before the end of 2018.
