I am a full time secondary school Mathematics teacher, teaching KS3, KS4 and KS5 in an OFSTED-rated `Outstanding` sixth form school, which is consistently in the top 2 schools in the borough. I have three years of experience teaching, specialising in preparing students for their GCSE and A Level examinations. I am familiar with the Edexcel syllabuses, although I can also teach parallel to other exam boards.

I hold two additional roles in the school: I am Head of Mathematics Teacher Training and Head of Intervention and Enrichment. I was chosen for these roles based on class observation feedback from senior leaders in the school, and due to my GCSE classes (including top, middle and bottom sets) over-achieving consistently every year. In the latter role, I have used my past experience tutoring to provide additional sessions and measures for pupils, that has tangibly improved their GCSE results. These sessions have targeted pupils who are on the grade 4/5 boundary, but also on those wanting to achieve an 8/9.

My naturally enthusiastic attitude and approachable personality will enable your child to have a positive approach to the subject and develop their skills. I specialise in working with students who have low confidence in their Mathematical ability. I am keen to link the lessons to everyday life to provide purpose and meaning to what they are learning, but also better prepare them for the future.

Having taught all ability levels, I am able to adapt my teaching style to support those who find Maths particularly difficult, breaking the subject down so that it is relatable and understandable. On the other hand, I am able to extend those of a high Mathematical ability. I offer a friendly, comfortable approach where students are able to learn from their mistakes and can easily understand Mathematics through my clear, simple explanations. Through my exposure to special needs children, I am renowned for my patient and calm approach. My aim through teaching is that every student feels like they can "do" Maths.

I am able to tutor for specific topics of trouble, or if necessary, I can conduct an initial assessment to highlight areas of particular weakness, or potential to extend.

Before becoming a teacher, I obtained an Economics degree (2:1) from the University of Nottingham, and secured a placement on the graduate scheme of one of the UK`s top 10 most sought after Graduate Schemes (according to Milkround). The business asked me to leave the graduate scheme early to take on a full time role working in sales, marketing and business development, due to my success in the graduate role. Having achieved one of the largest sales turnarounds, I decided that I wasn`t satisfied working in a corporate environment, and as such, I graduated from St Mary`s University with my Secondary Mathematics teaching qualification with an "Outsanding" rating, and a tutor award of "Teacher of the Year".

Prior to becoming a teacher, I was in a business and finance role for a global company. As a result, I have firm knowledge of the application of the subject.
