I have a strong academic knowledge of Geography, having gained a First-Class degree from Oxford University in 1990. However, I am a strong believer in making the subject fun and relevant to the changing times in which we live. I find it hard to talk about geographical matters without getting excited, and do hope this enthusiasm shines through in the sessions I teach!

I have previously worked with A Level and GCSE students one-to-one in both tutorial college and home-based environments. I also have experience of teaching the full curriculum to ages 11-18 in schools, and have a PGCE from Bath University (1997).

My approach is flexible and student-centred. I will adapt to the student`s personal requirements, but will place a strong emphasis on working through past / specimen exam questions in order to achieve exam success. I will also be eager to anchor my lessons to the study of real places, especially those known personally to the student, since this will infuse the curriculum with a sense of relevance and memorability.

I am also qualified to offer English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) and can offer tuition to non-native speakers at a range of levels.

Availability: I am flexible in my availability and will do my best to accommodate times which suit students.
