Information about Mariya

Hello! I am a British/Bulgarian graduate from the University of Oxford, where I studied Law with French Law. I know how tough a law degree can be so I am keen to help fellow law students understand the complexity of the subject and achieve their full potential. I am also passionate about languages and I spent a year living in Paris and studying French law at the Université Panthéon-Assas (Paris II) alongside native French students. After a year of attending classes and lectures, writing law essays and speaking French on a daily basis, I have reached a level of fluency in both written and oral French that has allowed me to tutor both A Level and GCSE students.

I was born in Bulgaria but I grew up in England, so I speak both Bulgarian and English fluently. I am keen to tutor both British and Bulgarian students in law, French or English! I can also offer English as a foreign language lessons to any Bulgarians who are seeking to improve their English.

Experience: I began tutoring while I was still at school. As a German A-level student, I gave informal lessons to students who were struggling with GCSE German. Since then I have acquired lots of experience leading and mentoring others. I am a volunteer youth leader at my local church where I have worked with children of all ages, I have coached debating teams at my school, and in Oxford I was women`s captain at Jesus College Boat Club which involved assisting the head coach to teach the novice rowers.

I really believe that patience and kindness towards yourself are the key to achieving your goals. I also believe that highlighting a student`s strengths and building up their confidence are essential for developing their ability to tackle the areas they struggle with. I am friendly and enthusiastic and I enjoy thinking of novel ways of presenting information which will make it easier to understand for the particular student I`m working with.
