Information about Emily
I am a professional viola player, available to teach violin and viola and assist practise sessions.
I graduated from the Royal Academy of Music with a Distinction in a Masters of Performance Degree gaining an additional Dip RAM qualification. Prior to this I graduated from the Royal Northern College of Music with a First Class BMus Honurs Degree.
As a soloist and chamber musician I have performed throughout the UK and Europe at many renown concert halls, including the Royal Albert Hall, St Martin in the Fields and the Wigmore Hall and in festivals including the Edinbrugh Fringe, Aldebrugh Music and BBC Proms. As a soloist I won first prize in the [contact detail removed] and also the [contact detail removed] Prize for Viola.
As violist of the Fitzroy String Quartet, we regularly perform across Europe and the Uk, in September 2017 will travelled to South Africa to give masterclasses and concerts at the University of the Free State as the visiting international string quartet. We were winners of the Beethoven Prize at the 2nd International Beethoven Competition. In 2017 we were finalists in the Royal Overseas League Competition and appeared live on BBC Radio 3`s drive time show]`. The quartet won first prize in the [contact detail removed] Competition and also the first prize in the [contact detail removed] Competition. In 2015 they were also the [contact detail removed] Prize Winners 2015.
As an orchestral musician I have played with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic and BBC Philharmonic and most recently appeared with the [contact detail removed].

Experience: I currently teach violin and viola from beginner to advanced level. I hold teaching positions in some of the U.Ks leading schools including Wycombe Abbey, Queen Annes Girls School and North London Collegiate School.
I love to teach and to pass on the valuable lessons I have learnt since starting my studies on viola/violin. I also appreciate how important music can be towards everyday education, having worked closely with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic education project - In Harmony and the RNCM`s Junior String Project.
I believe that with enthusiasm, passion and direction I can help you or your child achieve what you wish to achieve.
