Information about Thomas
I am an experienced philosophy teacher, and I recently obtained my PhD from Royal Holloway (University of London). My thesis covers all of the topics on the AQA Philosophy specification, so I have deep familiarity with the syllabus. I have one year`s experience in private tutoring, including A-level philosophy tutoring, and I have taught at undergraduate level for four years, including philosophy of mind, ethics and philosophy of medicine. I also have two terms of experience teaching philosophy at a Key Stage 3 level with the charity The Brilliant Club. My experience working with these different age groups has helped me to become both clear and comprehensive in my teaching. I believe that communication is just as important as knowledge in philosophy, so I always integrate exam technique and essay-writing skills into my tuition. I pride myself in the detail of my feedback on written assignments, my ability to break down complex ideas using examples and mock debates, and my ability to demystify even the most perplexing of philosophical texts.

A great teacher, very well prepared and gives specific and useful feedback on the progress. My son who will do his A-levels this year, enjoys the lessons and is making good progress.
