Information about Josh

I`ve been teaching Maths for 6 years now, with experience teaching whole classes, small groups and individuals. I`ve taken many classes through their GCSEs (foundation and higher) and A-levels (Maths and Further Maths). Whatever level you are at I realise that maths can be really hard! My passion lies in helping students make sense of this fantastic subject, and I believe that anyone can progress in it. I can help you tackle those really hard questions at the end of a paper, fill in gaps of knowledge left by absences or even start again from the basics and explain something in the easiest way.

I have a first class degree in Mathematics and Philosophy from the University of Bristol. I then qualified as a Teacher of Mathematics, receiving my PGCE from Kings College London. Since then I have worked in a secondary school, working with students aged from 11 to 18 years old.

This year, however, I am extremely flexible in my schedule, having taken some time out to travel.

Availability: For the next few weeks I am available at all times on week days and in the evenings from 5pm on weekends.

Willing to travel: Home Only

Experience: I`ve had 6 years of teaching experience (4 as a qualified teacher) at KS3, GCSE, A-level Maths and Further Maths levels. I`ve taught many year 11 and year 13 classes during this time, giving me an in depth knowledge of the GCSE and A-level curriculums and exams (particularly with the Edexcel exam board). I`ve been involved in an A-level pedagogy work group, working with examiners and other maths teachers to explore better ways of teaching A-level.
