Information about Patricia
I am an enthusiastic and passionate Spanish and French tutor whose main motivation is to ensure that pupils develop a love of learning and gain the skills necessary to become independent learners and to give them as many learning opportunities and experiences as possible in order to engage, motivate and prepare them for future life and education and encourage them to achieve their goals while enjoying the journey.
Whether you need to reinforce your Spanish in preparation for your GCSE/ A-levels or you are looking to learn Spanish as a hobby or for professional purposes, I always make sure to adapt my resources to the needs of the learner.
I believe learning a language is a life-changing skill and that is why I find extremely rewarding to share my knowledge of the Spanish language and culture through teaching.

Experience: My deep interest in languages and teaching led me to study a degree in English Studies that allowed me to gain knowledge in linguistics, second-language teaching and literature. To extend my training as a teacher, I moved to England to complete my PGCE Secondary in Modern Foreign Languages. University sessions and my school experiences have helped me to familiarize myself with the English education system and to develop my knowledge and understanding of the National Curriculum and the GCSE requirements for modern foreign languages.
Being a Spanish native speaker, I am able to foster and maintain pupils interest in the subject and to address misunderstandings. I enhance students learning and broaden their cultural horizons through implementing cultural aspects when relevant and sharing my own experiences on how useful studying a language can be. I try to create a positive climate for learning languages inspiring and motivating pupils, so I make use of authentic materials, as well as I use the target language as much as possible in lessons and I encourage pupils to use it to stretch and challenge them. Having studied a degree in English Studies, I am aware of the possible misconceptions that pupils may have through interference from their mother tongue, so I can anticipate to them when planning.
