I am a scientist with degrees in both Chemistry and Mathematics and a Ph.D, in Molecular Biology. I did my doctorate at Sussex University and then did research at Stony Brook University in New York before returning to the UK. I live in Newhaven and hold a position as Visiting Research Fellow at Sussex University as well as tutoring and teaching maths and chemistry.
I have three teenage children who were at school at Seaford and Lewes but now are at university in the US. My hobbies include playing and teaching squash, sailing and playing the piano.

Experience: Tutoring Experience
I have been tutoring maths and chemistry for over 10 years and I am currently also a part-time instructor of Maths (A level) at a local college.
My research is in computational neuroscience and I have lectured at Stony Brook University in New York.
In addition to tutoring other children, I have been one-on-one tutoring my three children over the past two years in Maths and Chemistry (they are doing A levels) and am very familiar with the GCSE and A level curriculum. I was also a tutor for undergraduate students during my Ph.D.

Tutoring Approach
My approach to tutoring is individually based and assesses what each student needs in addition to what the student feels they require extra help in. My goal is to make sure the student has a full grasp of the concepts involved and then make full use of past papers and the marking schemes to maximise exam success.many years of research (in neuroscience) but now do that part-time and tutor.
